Sebelius Thrust into Firestorm on Exchanges
This new is
about Republicans are demanding the resignation of
Kathleen Sebelius the secretary of Obama’s health reform because of the flaws
that the website has had insurance exchange which she is responsible. Here are
questions about how deeply she was involved in the development of the troubled
HealthCare.gov Web site and whether she saw the problems coming. Many
Republicans see her as a person incompetent; for example, Joe Pitt a republican
of Pennsylvania attacks that she is not ready and accuses her of she did not
see coming the consequences. He said ad I quote: “Why would she mislead us so
shortly before the rollout, when they were obviously not prepared and are still
not prepared, and it’s going to take a long time to fix the problem? We want to
know how long she thinks it is going to take.” Statements
like these there are many, however its defenders Democrats mentioned that she has the support of the president,
and that she is trained for her job.
It’s important to mention that after the bill became law in 2010, she
began holding weekly meetings on a range of thorny regulatory and policy
issues, like how to define the “essential health benefits” provided by
insurance plans or what to do about a possible shortage of primary care
doctors.
It is not Ms. Sebelius’ first brush with controversy. A federal judge
once criticized her over the administration’s decision to restrict
morning-after contraceptive pills to teenage girls, calling it a “bad faith,
politically motivated decision of Secretary Sebelius,” and she also faced heavy
scrutiny from Republicans for her fund-raising work for Enroll America, a group
promoting the health law.
I’m agree with republicans positions, because if she was involve with
the troubled web site, she should resign. But it will not happen because they
ran it up the flagpole all the way to the Supreme Court and “the law is still
standing, and so is she”
As we see in the other controversy she had, she will not resign because
she is a strong woman and she has the Obama’s support, so she will still work
to implement the Affordable Care Act.
Therefore,
if she cannot do her job right, she should be replaced even if she has the
Obama’s support or all the job and promotion she had done about the Affordable Care Act.
We could say that the Obamacare will benefit a lot of people in needs,
but we know it will not, it will help the people who have a highly income, and American
citizens only, the diffusion Sebelius is doing about the law is just proposing the
benefits without mentioning the contras omitting whom actually will benefit. Therefore,
I see it as a whim of Obama and Sebelius
because United States provides its
citizens with health insurance "free", and Obamacare, there will
be more than private insurance.
