Obama Wins a
Clear Victory, but Balance of Power Is Unchanged in Washington
By Lucero Morales Corona
The news that
Obama won the election on November 6 has
been a topic of relevance. For this reason at the newspaper of New York Times
published an article by Obama's victory.
At the beginning
of the electoral status quo states existed but this did not prevent President
Obama returned to the White House for another four years. Reaffirming
Republican control of the House and Senate remains in Democratic hands .
The tie in effect
were the Democrats, having more to lose but did not. The Republicans lost a
great opportunity to gain ground in the Senate in the states that are supposed
to have and control by the party as are Indiana, Missouri and North Dakota, but
we can not ignore the fact that other states are losing territory as Maine and
Massachusetts.
On the other hand
we see that Obama won a clear victory, but less decisive than other presidents
who were re-elected. This result does not show just how divided this country.
While Obama does not leave the Republican side, making a call to the next
administration to achieve work together to solve the problems of economic and
social sphere. Also take into account that it must return to the issue of
immigration, that in this election the Latino vote for Obama bowed.
I agree with the
article as soon as I get Obama to win this election. We have to note that
Obama's victory was for the electoral college and the popular vote. Counting on
the votes of both parties is how he can claim victory.
We must take into
account that in Obama administration fought for the middle class, has
simultaneously considering immigrants. One of the issues for which I can get
the victory is on the issue of healthcare.
On the other hand
the issue of Hurricane Sandy was favorable for Obama because he had more
support by the citizens that he left the campaign to see the damage he had
caused in the American territory.
On the other hand
we must take into account that the results were closely contested. Several
people were against Obama because he did not have the expected result and that
did not comply with what he said in his election campaign in 2008. Those who
voted for it because they want to give a second chance to really work on what
he accomplished. This election had a higher response from the public but there
was a greater response by youth and Latinos. For me this just shows that
politicians are increasingly taking into account the youth.
Obama should do
an analysis of what they did well to obtain the victory and that's what he did
wrong to not have the other vote. You have to take into account that it must
work hard to get better results in the next mandate. As we know in America is a
country populated by different races, that's why that should not put aside that
fear.
